Building Skills for Life!
Marist College Vocational Skills Department recognises the importance of a comprehensive and dynamic education. In support of our College vision, we work with Students, Parents/Caregivers, Teachers and the Broader Community to chart pathways of success for our young people.
The world of work is rapidly changing, with immense advances in technology and social change. Students who build a ‘portfolio of skills’ develop the ability to craft and navigate multiple careers over their working life.
New research undertaken by the Foundation for Young Australians, estimates students can expect to have an average of 17 jobs/job roles across 5 careers in their lifetime. Our Vocational Skills Department is uniquely positioned to help students embrace and navigate these challenges.
Building ‘transferable skills’ that can be applied across a range of jobs and industries is our focus.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Marist College Emerald is at the forefront of linking industry driven Vocational Skills to Catholic Education’s academic aspirations. Producing capable, competent and confident graduates.

Unique Student Identifier
Any person undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a registered training organisation will
need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Students at the College are required to create their own USI number by following the simple steps outlined
on the linked factsheet. They will need to then provide evidence of their USI number to the College by
completing and returning the ‘USI Collection and Verification Form’ prior to commencing any Accredited
Training at the College.
Marist College Emerald is not permitted to issue Statements of Attainment or Certificates unless we have
record of the students USI number.
